I was needless to say impressed. This mother going green life just got a little easier. Here was a place I could buy the organic stuff I needed. Not that I did not enjoy surfing the Internet to find things but it is equally as fun to go to a store and browse through the products. What made my visit to the store more pleasant is that they had a corner set aside in the store for kids. I mean a play mat with toys and a chair in case you needed to stop and relax and feed your hungry baby - which is exactly what I had to do. This particular store made it easy for me what with 3 kids and all to browse their wares and at no time did I feel rushed or pressured into buying anything. In fact I was so overwhelmed that I did not buy anything except some organic candy for my kids. I need time to process all they have to offer and I will be back.
Now for the novices out there - this is pretty standard stuff - but I am sure too that there are folks out there that have some misconceptions about the 'health food store' but I say dismiss them and check it out. Hopefully like me you will be pleasantly surprised by their organic selection of goods.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer to strike people than any other form of cancer. Skin cancer is more common in fair-skinned people, but all skin types can develop skin cancer. The main cause of skin cancer is from ultraviolet radiation from too much time spent in the sun. Identifying the signs of skin cancer early, and avoiding overexposure to the sun are the two best ways to prevent skin cancer. The three major causes of skin cancer are heredity, environment, and ultraviolet light damage to the skin, mostly in children and teenagers. Studies show adults receive half of their lifetime ultraviolet exposure when they are 20 years old.

In a recent interview I was asked, “Was there a certain event or breaking point that made you realize it was time for a change?” I quickly replied by providing a couple of my well-rehearsed responses; “Well” I said, “I was tired of being out of breath when going up stairs.” I then continued on by providing an extra bit of flare and added “I knew it was time for a change when I couldn’t even bend over to tie my shoes without being out of breath.” This particular interviewer respond by saying “Wow, I could see how that would really make you want to change your life!” Now in no way am I questioning the sincerity of this interviewer, rather I am questioning my inability to provide an honest response to this particular question. Taking the time and exerting the energy to really identify my breaking point has been exhausting and has conjured up insecurities that I thought I had laid to rest.
My breaking point revealed itself through the harsh realization that I had in fact put up a protective physical barrier in the form of weight. This effort to shield myself from dealing with my own issues of abandonment, low self-esteem, and an overall feeling of helplessness was an unconscious choice. I had imprisoned myself along with all my insecurities in a cocoon of excess. Stripped of my protective barrier I am forced to deal with these issues and closely analyze how each of them led to my weight gain. The encouraging part to this is, that by identifying the factors that fueled my breaking point I am able to begin confronting them so as to not allow them to control my life. I have also realized that I possess the strength to not only deal with these issues, but use them in my favor.
One might ask, “Why put yourself through the process of identifying your breaking point in an effort to embrace it?” My response is simple - “The point at which I decided it was time for a change, whether an actual event, or in my case a personal realization, carries with it an incredible power to better my life, so why not embrace it! I feel that is a much healthier alternative to living in fear that my breaking point if left unidentified could leave me broken.

Choosing the Right Dog Bed is Important for your Pet By : Sarah McDermott
The saying goes that there are many different types of snowflakes and there will never be a time when any two are exactly the same. I think that this little saying goes very well when describing a dog bed. There can be two made from the same place but they will always be just a little bit different. There make might be different. They can have different amounts of cushion. They might be a different shape or size. There are a number of factors that go into actually choosing the right bed for your new best friend. They are a great training tool and a great way to show your best friend just how much you care and love him.

Including something new in a food isn’t always a good idea, especially when it comes to your health. Here are 12 additives to subtract from your diet:
(Please understand these are not my assessments, but those by MSN Health and Fitness. My comments and recommendations are in my comment below.)
1. Sodium Nitrate (also similar to Sodium Nitrite)
This is a preservative, coloring, and flavoring commonly added to bacon, ham, hot dogs, luncheon meats, smoked fish, and corned beef. Studies have linked eating it to various types of cancer.
2. BHA and BHT
Butylated hydroxyanisole and butylated hydrozyttoluene are used to preserve common household foods. They are found in cereals, chewing gum, potato chips, and vegetable oils. They are oxidants, which form potentially cancer-causing reactive compounds in your body.
3. Propyl Gallate
Another preservative, often used in conjunction with BHA and BHT. It is sometimes found in meat products, chicken soup base, and chewing gum. Animals studies have suggested that it could be linked to cancer.
4. Monosodium Glutamate (MSG, also commonly labeled as Natural Flavorings, Autolyzed Yeast, etc.)
MSG is an amino acid used as a flavor enhancer in soups, salad dressings, chips, frozen entrees, and restaurant food. [It is addictive as it causes your brain to want to eat the item again and again.] It can cause headaches and nausea, and animal studies link it to damaged nerve cells in the brains of infant mice.
5. Trans Fats
Trans fats are proven to cause heart disease. Restaurant food, especially fast food chains, often serve foods laden with trans fats. [The worst of these are Cottonseed oil, Canola oil, and Soybean oil. Avoid all products with this as a major ingredient. I am not sure which product causes more massive weight gain, the trans fats or the high fructose corn syrup, but over half the american population is now extremely obese, and unfit to be seen in public.]
6. Aspartame
Aspartame, also known by the brand names Nutrasweet and Equal, is a sweetener found in so-called diet foods such as low-calorie desserts, gelatins, drink mixes, and nearly all soft drinks. It may cause cancer or neurological problems, such as dizziness or hallucinations. [It is addictive to your brain, causing you to re-purchase the product. Despite their claims, this ingredient also causes tremendous weight gain.]
7. Acesulfame-K
This is a relatively new artificial sweetener found in baked goods, chewing gum, and gelatin desserts. There is a general concern that testing on this product has been scant, and some studies show the additive may cause cancer in rats.
8. Food Colorings: Blue 1, 2; Red 3; Green 3; Yellow 6
Five food colorings still on the market are linked with cancer in animal testing. Blue 1 and 2, found in beverages, candy, baked goods and pet food, have been linked to cancer in mice. Red 3, used to dye cherries, fruit cocktail, candy, and baked goods, has been shown to cause thyroid tumors in rats. Green 3, added to candy and beverages, has been linked to bladder cancer. The widely used yellow 6, added to beverages, sausage, gelatin, baked goods, and candy, has been linked to tumors of the adrenal gland and kidney. [Ingestion of products withese ingredients can cause instant allergic reactions in some individuals with already compromised digestive systems.]
9. Olestra
Olestra, a synthetic fat found in some potato chip brands, can cause severe diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and gas. Olestra also inhibits healthy vitamin absorption from fat-soluble carotenoids that are found in fruits and vegetables.
10. Potassium Bromate
Potassium bromate is used as an additive to increase volume in some white flour, breads, and rolls. It is known to cause cancer in animals, and even small amounts in bread can create a risk for humans.
11. White Sugar
Watch out for foods with added sugars, such as baked goods, cereals, crackers, sauces and many other processed foods. It is unsafe for your health, and promotes bad nutrition. [See Dr. Mercolas comments below, processed white sugar is indeed harmful for our bodies in significant quantities, but HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) is extremely harmful after daily usage. This product is a major ingredient in most processed foods at the grocery store, and all products containing this major ingredient should be avoided. HFCS causes tremendous weight gain and is one of the leading causes of diabetes in the american population. It is also one of the leading causes of uncontrollable hyper-activity in children.]
12. Sodium Chloride
A dash of sodium chloride, more commonly known as table salt, can bring flavor to your meal. But too much salt can be dangerous for your health, leading to high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure. [Avoid refined common table salt and use unrefined sea salt to receive its healthy benefits.

Over the years I've been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel a bit and learn from many great teachers around the world. It is my intention to share what I've learned through my own perspective. I hope that what you find here has as meaningful an impact on you and your lives as it's had on mine.
We're raising money for a flock of chickens!
The Heifer Organization is one of my girls' favorite organizations to raise money for because they love the idea of giving animals to other families. Our own animals contribute much to our own little suburban plot by eating up our leftover scraps and giving us fertilizer and eggs. So right now we're raising money for a flock of baby chicks to be donated to a family in need in a developing country.
What I would love to see happen is for parents to act as middle man and encourage collecting the change from piggy banks and add it here. You'll notice the whole flock is only $20 so it is a wonderful thing to contribute to with a tangible result from lots of added up pennies.
In the past we've raised money for bees, which is very relevant to the young child who uses beeswax crayons and modeling wax, eats honey and lights a beeswax candle for meals and story time. They really connect with wanting to share that experience with another child.
Last year my daughter began to knit and wanted to raise money for a sheep so other children could have wool to knit with. This is another bonus of using natural materials. If she knitted with acrylic yarn it wouldn't have that same connection.

Its Thursday afternoon, you have thirty minutes to get from work, go by the house and pickup Heath, Jamies already at basketball practice, oh, and what about dinner? Does this scenario seem familiar? If youre a working Mom, I can promise that it is a familiar scene.
So how do you make Organic food choices, when you only have fifteen minutes to prepare your meals? Well, the first thing you should realize is that quite often, Organic choices do not necessarily equate to two hour meals. You can make Organic food choices that are as quick to prepare or pickup as the unOrganic ones.
For example, sub sandwiches are a healthier alternative than pizza or burger and fries, but do not really take any longer to pickup. Salads can be prepared in just a few short minutes, and provide for the necessary vegetable daily requirement. Don care for the usual salad? Make a Waldorf or fruit salad, either way youve changed it up a bit, and still provided a health choice. As for the dressing, oil based or vinegar based dressings are much better for you than the cream based, and are really more tasteful.
Okay, suppose salads arent what your kids like. What about other prepared foods that are also Organic foods? Organic Choice is a brand of frozen entrees or meals that take only a few minutes in the microwave to prepare, and are still Organic alternatives. Baked rather than fried is always a better choice, and many supermarkets today offer baked products fresh from their bakery, ready to go.
Still arent satisfied? You want a place to go and actually sit down and eat. There are still many Organic alternatives for a family when going to eat at a restaurant. Restaurants that offer buffet style meals are great choices. Thanks to many of the health conscious consumers out there, buffets have added baked, broiled, and fresh food choices to the display.
Fresh fruits and vegetables are usually always available on food bars, along with broiled or steamed vegetables. Meats are just about as varied, with many of the choices being offered in a fried and baked option. And if youre up for dessert, watermelons and grapes are just as satisfying as the Boston cream pie.
You can always throw up objections when it comes to Organic eating, the real trick is in realizing its your body that will suffer. Or your children that will suffer from the unOrganic choices you make. Why not start with Organic options, set the right example, and you will have children that make health conscious intelligent decisions about their eating.
Okay, now back to our Thursday afternoon juggling act. Youve dropped Heath at baseball practice, picked Jamie up from basketball, and you have exactly fifteen minutes to make a decision about dinner. As you sit at the red-light contemplating your options, there is a Subway, a Pizza Hut, and a grocery store with a deli in the same shopping center. How can this still be a difficult choice to make?

"The FDA's censorship of true health claims by nutritional supplement manufacturers is a direct violation of the Free Speech provisions of the U.S. Bill of Rights. It is precisely the kind of oppressive, tyrannical government action that our nation's founders fought so courageously to overcome, and yet modern Americans have regressed right back to tolerating that familiar tyranny in the FDA's actions today. Part of the 'prescription' of modern medicine, it seems, is planned ignorance and determined censorship that keeps the American people enslaved in a system of medicine that offers them no answers, no freedom and no access to honest information about natural remedies.

Some of the top US nutrition experts watch the rest of us as we make purchases in restaurants and grocery stores. They’ve listed the top 5 mistakes its they’ve seen, and what we can do to fix them.
Mistake #1: We think all fat is bad fat
Most people still dont get that some fats are actually good for you, says Alice Lichtenstein, DSc, an American Heart Association spokesperson. Saturated and trans fats should be avoided, but there are other fats we need in our diets for optimum health.
Fix: Make room in your diet for polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats. Good sources of these healthy fats are fish, nuts, avocados and soybean and canola oils. If you’re watching your calorie intake, then it’s probably not necessary to watch total fat as long as you choose sources of healthy fats instead of saturated- and trans-fat laden products.
Mistake #2. We supersize to save money.
People think that supersizing a restaurant meal is a money saver, but its not a health bargain if it has way too many calories, says Karen Weber Cullen, DPH, RD, research nutritionist at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Fix: A serving is about the size of a deck of cards, something that would fit in your palm and is about as thick. Men require a slightly larger portion, and children require a little less. So just because you’ll get a serving size 3 times what you should eat, and only pay a quarter more, you’re not really saving money and you’re not doing your body any good by packing that much food away. Choose a reasonable serving size, and keep that extra quarter in your pocket.
Mistake #3. We drink lots of empty calories.
What freaks me out is the amount of sugared soda and juice we drink, says Judith Stern, ScD, RD, professor of nutrition and internal medicine at the University of California, Davis. She thinks the only suitable place for a sugared drink is in orbit somewhere in space, where no one can get at it.
Fix: Sip tea. For no calories (rather than the hundreds you could swallow in just one sugary drink) you get antioxidants that can help prevent cancer, strengthen your bones, protect your skin and help keep your heart healthy. And tea is often cheaper than sugar-packed soft drinks, so you save money, too.
Mistake #4. We dont know what it feels like to be hungry.
Elisabetta Politi, RD, nutrition manager of the Duke University Diet Fitness Center in Durham, North Carolina says that if you don’t recognize hunger, then you also don’t recognize the true feeling of fullness, and will continue eating.
Fix. Become a conscious eater. Before you eat, relax and rate your hunger on a scale from 1 to 7, with 1 being the hungriest, and 7 being stuffed full. Eat slowly, and stop often to consider how that rating has changed, whether you’re feeling much more full or only a little more. Try to keep your rating between 2 ½ and 5 ½, so that you’re not starving when you start eating, and so that you stop before you feel about to pop.
Mistake #5. We have a microwave addiction.
It’s so common to come home from a long day at work and not want to spend time in the kitchen. Frozen microwave entrees are fast and convenient, but aren’t the best choice for your health. Eating too many heavily processed foods can leave you short on fiber and antioxidants such as vitamin C, says Jo Ann Hattner, RD, clinical dietitian at Stanford University Medical Center. Prepared foods are also more expensive than something you prepare yourself.
Fix: Pair your microwaved dinner with a green salad, a whole grain roll, and fresh fruit for dessert. Pick a time when you’re not so tired and stressed, and prepare some fresh and healthy meals for an entire week, and freeze them. You’ll reap the health benefits of avoiding processed foods, and you’ll save money at the grocery store, too.

The Secret Is Easy: Eat, Drink And Be Merry! How Our Physical Health Affects The Spirit-Part 2
Through my work as a professional psychic medium, I see the human spirit in a unique way. We are so much more than the physical body that often becomes the focus of our identity. And yet, our physical health directly affects the spirit.
I receive many questions about intuition, angels, past lives, and heaven. Yet the most common query I receive goes something like this
I really want to see and hear my angels. How can I improve my intuition?
You can spend a lot of money on candles, chants, charms, courses, and clearing, but I have great news! The best way to improve and increase your intuition does not involve moving to Tibet and giving up all worldly possessions. The secret is easy: eat, drink, and be merry!
Part 2
Another easy and effective way to enhance your ability to receive messages from your intuition is take a sip, have a chug, or guzzle down Earths most plentiful resource: water. Water is an extremely effective medium for the conduction of energy. If we go back to the swimming pool, we can think about what happens during a lightning storm. Lifeguards whistles begin to frantically blow in attempt to shoo everyone from the water. Energy is easily and quickly transmitted through water.
Our intuition, the spirits of loved ones who have left their physical bodies, angels, and animal spirits are forms of energy. Physical death does not stop our spirit. We know this is true because the laws of physics teach energy is neither created nor destroyed; it can only change its form. Our intuition is energy, and when we are well hydrated, we become a vibrant conductor for spiritual energy.
In fact, we are designed to receive spiritual energy. What is the most plentiful substance in our body? Water. So by choosing non caffeinated beverages we enhance what our innate abilities.
I became privy to this information early in my professional career. As a budding medium, I wanted to give myself every advantage in receiving information. I decided that if some water is good, then a lot of water must great. One day I guzzled a 32 ounce glass of icy cold water before starting a session. About twenty minutes into the conversation, I began to receive some pretty strong messages from my distended bladder, making it difficult to concentrate. I learned that moderation is the key. Listen to your bodys cues and drink when you have the urge.
Truthfully, though, I have moments when nothing but a diet Coke will due. And Im no stranger to the Sonic Route 44 Diet Dr. Pepper with vanilla and cherry. My recreational soda habit doesnt undermine my intuition, but again, moderation is the key.
Finally, and most importantly, find your bliss and make merry. Nothing opens our mind and heart to our intuition as beautifully as laughter and joy. When we allow ourselves to be enveloped in a healthy lifestyle, our mind, body, and spirit come into union. The veil or mystery that shrouds our intuition is lifted as we let go of the past and embrace our true essence. Messages from the spirit world become clear and direct as we accept that we are part the Divine. Take care and be happy. You have my unconditional support in achieving your best. So eat, drink, and be merry.

O Relax. Here’s a close-up look at the first:
Vitamin Water B-Relaxed Jackfruit-Guava (b+theanine)
Serving size 8fl oz
Servings per container 2.5
Calories 50
Total fat 0g
Sodium 0mg
Total carbohydrate 13g
Sugar 13g
Protein 0g
Vitamin B3 20%
Vitamin B5 20%
Vitamin B6 25%
Vitamin B12 20%
Vitamin C 40%
l-Theanine 50mg
This is advertised to “keep you calm during stressful times,” supposedly because it’s full of B vitamins and theanine. Now, there’s nothing wrong with B vitamins. They’re water soluble, so if you consume too many, you’ll get rid of the excess when you go to the bathroom. Of course, you might consider it a bit of a bummer to have paid for them and then end up flushing them down the toilet.
And theanine is a unique amino acid found only in tea, purported to have a relaxing effect. The theanine in this drink is synthesized. Whether that makes a difference in this case, who knows?
But look closely at the serving size. There are 2½ servings in each bottle, but how many people will notice that? That means you are getting 125 calories per drink, not 50, and 32.5g of sugar instead of just 13g. Not as great a deal as it looks at first glance.
It’s also worth noting that there is no actual Jackfruit or Guava fruit in this drink, so you’re not going to get any health benefits that might be associated with those fruits.
SoBe’s drink is close to the same amount of calories and vitamins.

The vitamins considered useful in guarding against premature greying of hair are pantothenic acid, para-aminobenzoic acid (paba), inositol. The minimum daily requirement of these vitamins appears to be 10 mg of pantothenic acid, 100 mg of para-aminobenzoic acid, and 2 gm of inositol. To obtain satisfactory results, all three of these vitamins belonging to the B group should be supplied at one time, preferably in a form which supplies all the B vitamins, such as yeast and liver. The three anti-greying-hair vitamins can also be produced in the intestinal tract by bacteria. Thus, taking a sufficient quantity of yoghurt daily and a tablespoonful of yeast before each meal is an excellent remedy for the prevention and treatment of premature greying of hair. If one wishes to take tablets of calcium pantothenate and para-aminobenzoic acid (paba), they should be taken in addition to the yeast and yoghurt, and not as a substitute for them.

PS I totally mixed up holidays. Kugel is for the New Year NOT passover. OY. However, in Fairway I discovered some GF Passover egg nodles from Israel: Gefen. So I'm going to make it anyway. The downside is that although Gefen IS GF, they use "Walnut Oil" in most of the GF noodle products. Go figure.

I want to share what I read today with the few readers that I have and I hope that it will encourage dialog or at least food for thought.
By Terry James
Most all people in western culture and society who are mature, so far as age is concerned, have heard of the term “the second coming.” Few, however, understand the term. Even fewer who think they have understanding have it right in their perception of that world-transforming future event. The accuracy of their understanding depends upon adhering to what God’s Word, the Bible, says on the awe-inspiring topic. Interpretation must be undertaken from the viewpoint that God is speaking to His creation–man—in a literal sense. That is, His foretelling must be taken as literal, not as being spiritualized, symbolic, allegorical, or as things that have already occurred in any way, shape, or form.
The second coming, or second advent, as it is also called, is a literal future event that will take place at a literal moment in literal time, by the literal King of all kings and Lord of all lords. It is the coming back to earth of Jesus Christ to put down all rebellion, to restore Planet Earth, and to rule and reign from His throne atop Zion for literally 1,000 years.
With that as an admittedly simplistic frame of reference, we will move more deeply into the subject through a stupendous body of prophecies yet to unfold that will profoundly affect every human being who has ever been conceived within the long history of this now fallen sphere. We will look particularly at the prospect of Christ’s return as it affects each and every person presently alive. To be “second coming ready” is the most important preparation any individual can make. This is because being “second coming ready” means a person’s soul, his or her eternal being, is in God’s family forever.
Dissecting the Second Coming
Comprehending the second coming of Jesus Christ to restore all things to conformity with God’s will requires understanding that God deals with His creation called man in dispensations. He has done so through covenants made with man throughout human history. The study of dispensationalism becomes quite involved, and this article, because of length parameters, doesn’t allow for an in-depth examination of that. We will look at the dispensation in which we live today–the age of grace, also called the church age, and the dispensation that will follow this one–the tribulation. Even so, we have space only to delve briefly into these as they reflect upon our topic, what is involved in being “second coming ready.”
One Second Coming; Two Phases
The return of Christ makes no sense if viewed only as a one-phased event. This is because the Scriptures present conflict and confusion, if trying to make the second coming simply the Lord breaking through the black clouds of Revelation 19:11, then defeating all rebels and moving to Jerusalem to set up His millennial kingdom.
Some Scriptures reveal that no one can know the exact day or hour of Christ’s return. Others tell that the exact number of days to His return to earth can be precisely calculated. Matthew 25:13 says Jesus will return at an unknown time, while Revelation 12:6 indicates that the Jews will have to wait on the Lord 1,260 days, starting when the Antichrist stands in the Temple of God and declares himself to be God. This takes place three and one-half years into the seven-year tribulation period.
Which is it? Can Christ’s time of return be known for sure, or not? God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). His Word is orderly, and always makes sense when proper context is applied and when the reader is faithful to seek out what it really says. It is vital, therefore, that Bible prophecy, as the Word of God in general, be studied thoroughly in total context. It can be hard work, but blesses the soul every time it is done. So, we see that the area dealing with knowing or not knowing the time of Christ’s coming back to earth presents what might be construed as contradiction. Bible prophecy seems to say different things about earth dwellers being aware of exactly when He is coming again. It is impossible to understand the apparent contradiction (which is not contradiction at all) without in-depth study on the matter. Such study, covered with prayer for understanding, reveals that Christ will return to Planet Earth in two distinct phases. Additionally, study brings realization that it is essential to understand that God is working within two prophetic programs: one involving the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the other involving His chosen people, the nation Israel. The two dovetail into the most glorious event in human history to occur since Christ’s first coming.
Phase 1: The Rapture
This event involves the church, all born-again believers in Jesus Christ for salvation. A person is born again (John 3:3) into the family of God by accepting that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. This is the “rock” upon which Jesus said He would build His Church (Matthew 16:18). All people who have been born since the church began have lived in the “church age” or “age of grace.” That is, all during this period of time, this dispensation, who accept Christ’s blood as atonement for sin are under the grace of God. These believers are recipients of reconciliation with God the Father, their sins forever removed from receiving His judgment.
Rapture of the church, as foretold by the Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:51-55 will be the one atomos of time (faster than the eye can blink) when Jesus will call all believers of the church age to be with Him forever. This is the “mystery” Paul showed believers, revealing in full what Jesus meant when He said the following: “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” (John 14:1-3).
The prerequisite, then, for being rapture ready is to accept Christ as Savior. Paul tells us that ALL will be changed in that “twinkling of an eye.” Who is included in the “all” he wrote about? “All” was the pronoun he used to include every individual during the church age who will accept Christ for their personal salvation.
The rapture is the first of the two-phase second coming. Thus, those who are rapture ready are also second coming ready. “All,” not “some,” will go to be with the Lord when He calls, as He did to John in Revelation 4:1. Each believer is rapture ready in the sense that each will go to be with Jesus in that stupendous event. Each will be taken; none will be left behind.
However, not every Christian will be “ready” in another important sense. Those who have lived carnal lives–lives that are not walking in the will of God will lose rewards at the bema, or judgment seat of Christ. The believer must do his or her best to live the way God expects of His children while still in this mortal flesh. Those who do not won’t be kicked out of God’s family or be left behind to suffer His wrath (for we are not appointed to the wrath of God; see 1 Thessalonians 5:9). But, those who choose to live apart from the Father’s instructions will have disappointed their Lord, and at the bema judgment will see their carnal works burned in the holy fire that purges unrighteousness. Sinful acts, through commission or ommision, cannot enter God’s eternal kingdom.
The child of God should take this truth very seriously. How he or she attempts to walk righteously here on earth will determine his or her eternal service status when they look into their Lord’s omniscient eyes.
Phase 2: Second Advent
The physical touchdown of the Lord Jesus atop the Mount of Olives will take place at a minimum of seven years following the rapture of the church. This will be the second phase of Christ’s second coming. It will come at the end of the worst era of human history, the tribulation. The tribulation era will begin God’s dealing with His chosen people, Israel, in a supernatural way. He will, during this horrific time, purge, through the fiery crucible of Antichrist’s genocidal rage, a special remnant of the Jewish people. These will be His nation as head of all nations during the millennium, the 1,000-year era that will follow the tribulation. However, before the Jewish remnant will enjoy the millennial earth as the foremost nation, the time will be worse for the Jewish people than at any time during the many anti-Semite persecutions and diasporas (scatterings) through the ages.
Jeremiah, the Old Testament prophet, said the following about that horrendous time: “Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it” (Jeremiah 30:7).
Hell on Earth
The Tribulation will produce an increasingly Hell-like planet, God’s direct judgments falling upon Antichrist and the rebellious earth-dwellers, the closer the time of Christ’s return to earth comes. Still, rather than repent of their horrendous sin against the Almighty, they will hide themselves in the caves and crannies of the mountains and shake their fists against Him.
Jesus himself said of this terrible time just before His return: “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matthew 24:21).
Only the great mercy of God will keep some flesh from succumbing to the 21 judgments that will pour upon and smash into Planet Earth. While all armies of earth gather in the Middle East at Armageddon, Christ will return to put an end to all war (Revelation 19:11). The Prince of Peace will rule and reign over the millennial earth in righteousness upon a planet made pristine again by the Creator of all things.
Israel will be the host nation to the Lord’s throne atop Mt. Zion (Mt. Moriah remade and raised above the terrain). King David, in His resurrection body, will be Christ’s coregent for Israel, while Christ reigns as King over all the earthly kingdom. Thus, all promises God made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will be fulfilled.
Getting Ready Now is Crucial
There is no more critical a matter for any person than being second coming ready. The Christian (born-again child of God) must be ready for the moment when Jesus will say, “Come up here,” as He did to John in Revelation 4:1. This preparation can be made only through dedication to the purposes for which the person has been placed on earth–to carry out the will of God. That is done through prayer and study of the Bible, then translating that prayer and study into living every minute of every day with the thought of abiding in God’s will. We are to be royal ambassadors in a foreign land. Christians are to be outward-turning, not inward-focused–i.e., the child of God is supposed to think more of others than of himself or herself while going about daily life. This doesn’t mean assuming a pious, head-in-the-clouds attitude. It means that Christians should be Christ-like, meeting and interacting with people the way Jesus did. The believer should be about helping people in material ways, but always secondarily to informing them that Jesus alone is the way to God the Father for eternity (John 14:6).
This is how to be rapture ready, in the sense of being worthy to hear Jesus say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Tribulation Saints Must Be Ready
Being Second Coming ready for the person who will enter the tribulation following the rapture of the church is another matter. But, getting ready to go through that most terrible time is essential. If you have been left behind when millions vanish, to be less than second coming ready will mean enduring torment forever, apart from the God who moved heaven and hell to bring you into His eternal family.
Faithful to the End
Getting second coming ready during the tribulation will mean turning one’s life over to Christ and trusting Him for salvation. It will mean standing for Christ no matter the challenges faced. It will mean refusing the mark of the Antichrist, thus being targeted for death. But, standing for Christ will bring eternal blessings, as promised to the martyrs of the tribulation era:
“And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints” (Revelation 13:7-10).
Why Being Rapture Ready Is Essential
If you are reading this before the rapture, it is essential, in the view of many prophecy scholars, that you get ready now for the second coming of Christ, rather than await the tribulation era. There is significant evidence that those who are given, but refuse, the Holy Spirit’s call to accept Jesus Christ as Savior might not hear such a call during that last seven years.
The Scripture in question indicates God’s offer during the tribulation might not extend to those who during the time before the tribulation clearly knew they should accept Christ, but rejected that beckoning: “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie. That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12).
Time To Get Ready Is Now
There are no prophecies that precede the rapture of the church. Yet most every signal given by Jesus and the Old and New Testament prophets for the end of the age is on history’s horizon at present.
The hour is late; the rapture is imminent; it could literally take place at any moment. There are no guarantees of future opportunities for salvation. The Apostle Paul gives God’s Word about the urgency of the hour when it comes to getting second coming ready: “We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation)” (2 Corinthians 6:1-2).

My head is filled with things to say!
so Poly let me use her blog today to tell you things.
Things No, 1: Sun Bugs.
Have you ever caught a sun bug? I've been trying. I heard only about two people who have ever caught sun bugs--my catmom's mom's sister's 2nd husband, and Popeye's dog The Jeep. A sun bug is a bug that is made out of light, but if you catch it it tastes like 17 of the world's most delicious foods and also gives you momentary superpowers that must be used for good, not evil. Sun bugs often buzz around visions of the virgin mary and have also been seen around UFOs. If you catch a sun bug, 20 more are created, so it's a good thing.
I seen one this AM and sang a bazillion songs to it but could not catch it. Have any of you ever caught one of these?
Things No. 2: The Shower
Do you know about the shower? I think a lot of cats are taught about the shower, but it may be urban legend! This morning I was reclining in the bathroom window, which for reasons unknown to me is IN the shower, and the water came on!! I was scared! And then foods lady came in!!! And she lifted me up in the air and out of the shower and I did not get wet. It's a christmas miracle! Maybe I ate a sun bug and being impermeable to water was my momentary superpower? I don't know. All I know is that it was exciting and terrifying and I think I may do it again. I didn't die! Don't believe all you hear about the shower.
